Romans 12:1-2

"And so dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice the kind he will find acceptable, this is truly the way to worship him. Don't copy the behaviors and customs of this world but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you which is good and pleasing and perfect."

Strive Update 1/12/21

Welcome to 2021! Unfortunately, we're picking up where we left off in 2020...kinda. As we forge into 2021 we're left with uncertainty and confusion about how to do ministry. After being shut down to in person services since Thanksgiving, Crossroads opened up to live services last Sunday. While attendance was low it was great to worship with the Church. As with everything/everywhere else there is a level of awkwardness at church. Everyone has their opinion about what we should and shouldn't be doing.

Before explaining what Strive will be doing I want to be clear that we respect other opinions and ideas about how to proceed. We also respect your right to choose if you want to attend, wear masks, socially distance, etc. I ask that you respect ours to meet in person. If your are not comfortable with our guidelines then please don’t feel obligated to attend or send your student. In anticipation of this, we will be attempting to livestream the sermon only on Wednesday Evenings at 7pm for students to listen to. We will also post discussion questions for you and your student to discuss.

  • We WILL be meeting in person starting Wednesday January 13th. MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED if "social distancing" cannot be maintained. Religious organizations are exempt from some of the COVID restrictions but it is unclear about mask wearing, so we will follow this hybrid guideline. If your student is within 6 feet of someone they are expected to wear a mask. This is also a safety measure to try and help prevent any spread of COVID. Masks will be available at the check in desk.

  • If you are experiencing ANY sickness PLEASE do not attend Strive. We've learned that even simple congestion is a symptom of COVID.

  • Strive will start at 6pm and end at 8pm until further notice.

  • These restrictions will be in place until further notice. They will be reevaluated each week and subject to change at any time.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility during this continuing struggle. As the youth pastor and a parent I understand the importance of student interaction even in these unprecedented times. We welcome your prayers for our students, leaders and Strive.

Hebrews 12:1-2

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God's thrown."

To produce and cultivate a fertile soil in the hearts of our students, enabling them to accept Christ and become his productive disciples.

"Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it."
